How Facebook Ads Helped Casa Cannoli Through Lockdown
The Client
Based in London, Casa Cannoli creates beautiful (and delicious) Sicilian sweet treats, merging Sicilian tradition with foodie innovation. Their recipes are top notch, and they’ve become known for their high-end, authentic ingredients, often brought in specifically from Sicily and other parts of Italy.
What We Did
Challenges
When Coronavirus locked down the UK, the closure of food markets meant that Casa Cannoli had nowhere to sell their products. They had to quickly pivot to ensure they survived, and introduced home delivery in the blink of an eye.
Strategy
Following an audit of the existing social media platforms, we decided to refresh the content strategy, including showcasing the Sicilian heritage of cannoli and the stories of the ingredients. We also created a paid Facebook and Instagram ad campaign designed to drive customers to order their box of cannoli online.
The paid ad campaign was very closely targeted to people within the delivery postcodes, and after some testing across relevant audience demographics and interests, we found the ideal audiences to deliver a significant sales uplift.
Results
For the three months of the crisis that the campaign ran through (April, May and June 2020) it performed at 8:1 to 13:1 ROI, and meant that Casa Cannoli continued to generate enough revenue despite all physical sites being closed.
We also saw a solid rise in followers and engagement as a result of the paid campaign complementing the organic posting.
Testimonial
I couldn’t recommend Tasty Comms enough. Amy came to the rescue during difficult times and helped us get through the crisis. She always went above and beyond her duties, because she actually cared about our project and its success.
Her knowledge and personality has made her an invaluable member of our team. A true keeper.
